BR 2-04: The Troy Stone

  The reason why I read this book is that my friend recommended me to read it. As is often the case, this story is about a boy who time-travels into a world of long ago.       

   Do you think that we can time-travel? I think that we can do! Also, I want to do that. In this book, the boy visits somewhere and finds a yellow stone which seems to have special powers. Then, he goes to a world of long ago because of the stone. So, we may be able to time-travel if we can find the stone. Why don't you looking for the stone with me?

   I recommend this book to people who is interested in time-travel or anime whose name is "Doraemon". Please read it!!

BR 2-03: Snow White and Rose Red

One cold winter evening, a bear came to the house. It was a very big bear. (p. 1)

   
      The reason why I chose this book is that its cover's bear is very cute. Many people think that bears are very dangerous. But this bear is very kind and adorable. This book tells us how important it is to be kind to people, and tells us that we can become happy if we treat people kindly.

     This book is in the Penguin Young Readers series. It has very cute cover and I'm sure you'd love it. If you like animals or like stories which have a happy ending, I recommend this book to you.

BR 2-02: Gorilla Watching Tours

In fact, there are many questions about the future of mountain gorilla. Will the world find better methods of protecting them? Will their numbers increase or decline? (p. 18)

     Are you interested in nature or animals? I'm interested in them. This book is from NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. In this series, we can read about nature, animals and so on. And they are non-fiction.

     A group of tourists went to the forest of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda, to watch mountain gorillas. Though they walked a long way, they couldn't watch them. There are more than 300 gorillas living there, then why? Also, mountain gorillas are decreasing due to changing of environment. Now, there are only about 700 mountain gorillas left in the world. What can we do to save them? The first step to save them is that reading this book, and finding out how things really are.

BR 2-01: Saving the Pandas

The panda is an animal that has represented China for centuries.
Now, many people in China are working hard for save this beautiful animals for everyone's future. (p. 26)

     Have you ever been to China and met pandas? I have never done that. I like animals very much. Especially, I love pandas!! So I long to meet them.

     This book tells us about habits of pandas, how pandas are precious animals and what we should do to save them. One woman whose name is Hong Zuo is been taking care of panda cubs for more than 20 years, so she has a very special relationships with them. She tell us what she has trouble with in this book. Also, Zhihe Zhang who is a geneticist and director tell us that pandas are disappearing because of destruction of environment by human and what we should do to protect them.

     If you want to know about pandas or you are interested in the reason why there are few pandas in the world, please read this book. I'm sure that you can get many knowledge about them.
